Kalki
Purana, I[2]
As per I[2] V.4, the mission of Kalki's
life is to destroy Koli. Koli signifies a person as well as
the vices which are peculiar to this age. As per I[3], V.25
Kalki was given a white horse, which he rode during his
conquests all over the world. In fact Kalki is always symbolized
as riding a white horse.
"Acclaimedly, towards the end of Kaliyuga, when righteousness turns into
unrighteousness, light into darkness, good into evil, virtues into vices,
believers into non-believing profanes, community of man into thieves and evil
doers and the faith in God is lost and the Vedas are misinterpreted to serve
adharma, Kalki would be
born in the house of Vishnuyashas, a Brahmin and the priest of Yajnavalkya, at
the village Shambhala.
Some texts seem to suggest that Kalki would be born to
Vishnuyashas as his son but the others claim that Kalki would be only the
other name of Vishnuyashas. This Brahmin, the Dharma manifest, would create arms
and soldiers by his will and himself carry a long sword and destroy the wicked
malechchh, the low-caste people responsible for adulterating Dharma and breaking
social order. He would restore the social order comprising of four varnas, and
the four ashramas and all rituals and religions canons. For the fulfillment of
his errand gods would give him a horse capable of swift speed
in the sky as well as on the earth. Given by devas, or gods, the horse would be known as
Devadatta, or 'The one given by gods.' "

"The artist has largely adhered to this same Puranic elaboration. For
delineating him as the last of the Dasavatara the artist has packed in his
figure several features of Vishnu's previous
incarnations. He has the same body complexion as Vishnu but a different body
build, more like a mighty wrestler, such as only Balarama, amongst his
incarnations, had. He is wearing a warrior like helmet but with peacock crest of
Krishna crowning it. He has on his waist the long sword, as Puranas prescribe
with his figure, but in his hands he is holding a bow and arrow, the
characteristic attributes of Rama. As compared to his projected role in the
fable, he has a shorter stature, something close to Vishnu's Vamanavatara. The
armour, which he is putting on, has a fish like look with some sort of
resemblance to his Matsyavatara. A well clad and bejeweled deva, with a
Vaishnavite tilaka on his forehead and hence of the Vaishnava line, has brought
him the horse Devadatta.
With both its forelegs folded like an army personnel, the horse seems to salute its
new master. The horse
obviously has an unearthly bearing and with its wings an unearthly look. Except
a partially visible saptaparni tree, the background is plain in opaque golden
tint. The wide brownish red border, red feet of horse, features of the two
figures, typically folded sash on the waist of the Deva and formal character of
the horse have striking
resemblance with the medieval miniature art style of Raghogarh in Central
India." |

The
Revelation of John
19. And after these things I heard
a great voice of much people in heaven, saying: Alleluia { (ale el-o-hay' yis-raw-ale)
'El 'elohey Yisra'el - 'God
of Gods (elohim) of him who struggle with God' } ;
Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true
and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did
corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants
at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and
ever.
And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and
worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen (Omm); Alleluia (El 'elohey Yisra'el).
And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants,
and ye that fear him, both small and great.
And I heard as it were the
tune of many people, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty
thunderings, saying, Alleluia (El 'elohey Yisra'el):
"For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice,
and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath
made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in
fine linen, clean and white: For the fine linen is the righteousness of
saints.
And he saith unto me: "Write - Blessed are they which
are called unto the wedding feast of the Lamb." And he saith unto me:
"These are the true sayings of God."
And I fell at his feet
to worship him. And he said unto me: "See thou do it not. I am thy
fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of
Jesus: worship God for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white
horse; and he that sat
upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he
doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of
fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name
written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed
with a vesture dipped in blood:
and his name is called: The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven
followed him upon white horses,
clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth
goeth a sharp sword,
that with it he should smite the nations, and he shall rule them with a rod
of iron, and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty
God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF
KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
And I saw an angel
standing in the sun; and he cried
with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly
in the midst of heaven:
"Come and gather yourselves together unto the feast of the great God, that
ye may 'eat' the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of
mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them,
and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great."
And I saw the beast,
and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war
against him that sat on the horse,
and against his army.
And the beast
was taken, and with him the false
prophet that wrought miracles before him,
with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them
that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning
with brimstone.
And the remnant were slain
with the sword
of him that sat upon the horse,
which sword proceeded
out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

2 Samuel Chapter 22
And David spake unto YHWH the words of this song in the day that
YHWH had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out
of the hand of Saul: And he said:
"YHWH is my rock,
and my fortress, and my deliverer; the God of my rock; in him will
I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high
tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
I will call on YHWH, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be
saved from mine enemies. When the waves of death compassed me, the
floods of ungodly men made me afraid; the sorrows of the underworld
compassed
me about; the snares of death prevented me; in my distress I called
upon the YHWH, and cried to the Gods and they did hear my
voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into their ears.
Then
the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and
shook, because he was wroth. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils,
and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. He
bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his
feet.
And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly:
and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
And
he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick
clouds of the skies. Through the brightness before him were coals
of fire kindled.
YHWH thundered from heaven,
and the most High uttered his voice. And he sent out arrows,
and scattered them; lightning [baraq {baw-rawk'}] , and discomfited them. And
the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were
discovered, at the rebuking of YHWH, at the blast of the breath
of his nostrils. He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out
of many waters; He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them
that hated me: for they were too strong for me. They prevented me
in the day of my calamity: but YHWH was my stay. He brought me forth
also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in
me. YHWH rewarded me according to my righteousness: according
to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me. For
I have kept the ways of YHWH, and have not wickedly departed from
my God. For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes,
I did not depart from them. I was also upright before him, and have
kept myself from mine iniquity. Therefore YHWH hath recompensed
me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness
in his eye sight. With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful,
and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright. With the
pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt
shew thyself unsavoury. And the afflicted people thou wilt save:
but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them
down. For thou art my lamp, O YHWH: and the YHWH will lighten my
darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have
I leaped over a wall. As for God, his way is perfect; the word of
the YHWH is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
For who is God, save YHWH? and who is a rock, save God? God is my
strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet
like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places. He teacheth
my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness
hath made me great. Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that
my feet did not slip. I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed
them; and turned not again until I had consumed them. And I have
consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea,
they are fallen under my feet. For thou hast girded me with strength
to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under
me. Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might
destroy them that hate me. They looked, but there was none to save;
even unto YHWH, but he answered them not. Then did I beat them as
small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of
the street, and did spread them abroad. Thou also hast delivered
me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head
of the people: a people which I knew not shall serve me. Strangers
shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall
be obedient unto me. Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be
afraid out of their close places. YHWH liveth; and blessed be my
rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation. It is
God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,
and that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted
me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered
me from the violent man. Therefore I will give thanks unto thee,
O YHWH, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.
He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to
his anointed,
unto David, and to his seed for evermore.

Muhammed
' In the year 621, at the age of 51 years old, Mohammed flew on the magical Winged-Horse of Fire which he
called Burak, which literally means White Horse but seen as
"Thunder-Lightning". The full version of this most memorable moment has been
preserved in "The Bokhari" (Vol.15, p.3615) one of the Holy Islamic Scriptures.
The following is a
resume of this fabulous dream....
"Mohammad had gone to rest at dusk. He slept deeply on the carpet of his cousin, Mutem ibn Adi. Suddenly, the silence
was broken and a voice as clear as a trumpet called :
"Awake, thou sleeper, awake!" And Mohammed saw in front of him, dazzling in
darkness the shining Archangel Gabriel who was inviting him to follow him
outside. Before the door stood a Horse as dazzling as
Gabriel. It had wings, glittering wings of an immense eagle. Gabriel presented
the Horse to Mohammed,
saying that it was "Burak" the Horse of Abraham. Burak
whinnied and allowed Mohammed to vault on its back.
Then, drinking the wind, it galloped to the street and as it came to the
walls of the sleeping city, it spread its wings and soared into the starry
night.
First of all, they went to the summit of Mount Sinai, at the very place where
Jehovah had given the stone tables to Moses. Then, they flew on and went to
Bethlehem at the exact place where Jesus was born. And finally, depending on the
different versions, they went to Heaven, or into a Holy Temple in Heaven, where
Mohammed met with many of the Holy Land's previous Horsemen... Adam, Noah, Enoch
(apparently, known by them as Idris), Moses, Isaac, Elijah, Jesus and a few
others!! And these guys spoke and told him : " We salute you, you the first and the
last, O Gatherer of men." ...and Gabriel added : " We salute you, O you the
first, because you will be the first person who, on Resurrection Day, will come
out of his grave ; and the last, because you are the Seal and the last prophet. You are a gatherer of men in the meaning that it
belongs to you gather everyone for the resurrection and as such the whole
community will resurrect."
So, this is basically, the dream...Some parts were taken from "The Messenger,
the Life of Mohammed" by R.V.C. Bodley, Greenwood press, N.Y., 1946 while the
last paragraph comes from "Apocalypses et Voyages dans L'Au-Delà" by Angelo
Piemontese. ' |
